This coming Sunday, August 30, marks yet another new chapter in the journey of The Gathering Ministry. We started at University Church until the building was sold to Purdue. We were invited and moved to First Baptist Church in Lafayette where we struggled to share the space. When that didn’t last, we went to Happy Hollow School in West Lafayette for several months. But the school district needed that space, so we moved again. We were then welcomed to Carnahan Hall in Lafayette, (soon to become the new BMV), which was large and delightful. But after it closed, we were invited to the Fowler House on Ninth Street in Lafayette. Then we came to Tippecanoe County Historical Association where we have been for several years. But tensions arose along the way with TCHA, and we have been feeling increasingly unwelcome there.

We have always been a church functioning as “tenants” to landlords. We have done well bringing the ministry each week, but here we go again. Another restart. The change was inevitable, of course. But now comes the most unique new space for us beginning this week. Mary Buckley, of a favorite downtown restaurant, Bistro 501, has offered us space in the iconic historic Lahr Hotel Atrium! The space is amazing, open, warm, and inviting. This is a dramatic answer to our prayer for a new home. There are logistical challenges for sure, but we are engaged in making it work. This generous offer from Mary comes after spending a year searching for a new home. So this coming Sunday, join us at 11:00 am at 115 N Fifth Street. I am so grateful and energized by this new chapter and I pray we will have an amazing and blessed experience for all who come! Dr. Will
