Haiti Ministry
After the devastating earthquake in Haiti in January 2010, The Gathering helped a young couple, Gabriel and Richling Paul, build a 2-room brick house in Port-au-Prince. Since that time, Gabriel and Richling, have ministered to thousands of Haitians in a variety of ways with the help of funds from The Gathering, family and friends. …

Health Hut
In 2014, the late Karen Michler started a mission called Health Hut for The Gathering. To this day, The Gathering continues this mission in her memory. Michler’s vision was for The Gathering members to provide items not covered by Public Assistance programs. Health Hut occurs every 2nd Thursday of the month. Helpers are to arrive by…
All Are Welcome!
At The Gathering, we do church differently—it’s not about tradition or complicated systems—it’s all about helping people from all backgrounds discover the joy that comes from knowing and serving Jesus Christ.
Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time, or looking for a new church home, you’ll find a place to belong here. You are invited to come and experience our worship services.
What can you expect on Sundays with us?

Our Praise Band
Our Praise Band is extremely talented and enhances our worship every Sunday.
These highly trained and acclaimed musicians come from all musical styles and backgrounds. They have played in numerous local and regional bands, and some have toured extensively. They now find themselves settled in and around Greater Lafayette. A core group of players have been with The Gathering for more than ten years. They are cross trained on many instruments, and you never know who’s going to be playing what until they begin the first tune. With a mix of seven lead and backup singers, you’ll love the versatility and harmonies this group delivers each and every Sunday.

AUGUST 30, 2026 – FIRST SUNDAY AT BISTRO ATRIUM
This coming Sunday, August 30, marks yet another new chapter in the journey of The Gathering Ministry. We started at University Church until the building was sold to Purdue. We were invited and moved to First Baptist Church in Lafayette where we struggled to share the space. When that didn’t last, we went to Happy…

WE’RE MOVING TO THE BISTRO ATRIUM
There is a big change coming for The Gathering, and it came with surprise and unexpected speed! We received notice about two weeks ago that the Tippecanoe County Historical Association will no longer be available to us as of the beginning of September. In the meantime, our friend Mary Buckley, owner of Bistro 501, has…

We were informed that we will be leaving the Tippecanoe County Historical Association (TCHA) within the next month. While this news was disappointing, it wasn’t entirely…

GREAT TURNOUT AT THE GATHERING’S FIRST SERVICE
It was wonderful to see the great turnout at The Gathering’s first service in its new space at the Bistro Atrium. Several commented it was easier to visit before the service in our new location. The total count was close to 60! We are putting the new chairs to good use — see you this Sunday!

THE BAND PLAYING ON THE “STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN”
Our Praise Band continues to lift us up in our new space at the Bistro Atrium! They opened with a very poignant song on Sunday — “Jolene” in honor and memory of Dolly Parton whom we lost the previous week. We appreciate all of our musicians and everything they bring to our service each and every week. Thank You!
